Diario Cristiano joins Latin Evangelical Alliance as associate member
Diario Cristiano, the Spanish-language edition of Christian Daily International, has officially become an associate member of the Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL). The partnership was formalized during the AEL General Assembly held from October 12 to 16 in San José, Costa Rica. The alliance represents national evangelical bodies across 22 countries, encompassing over 465,200 local churches.
Through this membership, the news outlet gains direct access to church networks and leadership across the region. The collaboration includes working with the AEL’s religious freedom and communications commissions. Additionally, Diario Cristiano staff will provide training for church communicators on topics such as ethical journalism, digital media, and the use of artificial intelligence.
Javier Bolaños, Latin America editor for Christian Daily International, stated that the partnership aims to provide rigorous, biblical journalism that highlights the work of the church in Ibero-America. AEL President Juan Cruz Cellamare and the organization's executive board supported the application, citing a need for independent, Scripture-grounded reporting to document the activities and challenges of evangelical churches in the region.
