Angel Studios Implements New Content Standards Under 'Angel Promise' Initiative

Angel Studios, the production company known for faith-based films such as "Sound of Freedom," has introduced a new set of content standards titled the "Angel Promise." Co-founder and Chief Content Officer Jeff Harmon stated that the initiative aims to preserve the company’s family-friendly mission for the long term, ensuring the studio maintains its distinct identity as it continues to grow.

The policy establishes three primary commitments: prohibiting nudity, sexual acts, and the use of the F-word in future productions. Additionally, the studio will restrict the irreverent use of God’s name and implement stricter profanity guidelines for children's content. To maintain these standards, the company will rely on its "Angel Guild," a community of approximately 3 million members who must provide a score of at least 70 out of 100 for a project to qualify for distribution.

Beyond content restrictions, the studio plans to enhance parental controls within its streaming application. These updates will utilize Guild-generated age recommendations and detailed story notes to assist families in evaluating content. Harmon emphasized that these measures are intended to provide greater transparency than standard industry ratings, allowing families to make informed decisions while still permitting filmmakers to explore complex themes.
