Argentine Evangelical Congress Addresses Needs of Children and Families

Approximately 500 pastors and ministry leaders gathered on September 12 at Ríos de Vida Church in Quilmes, Argentina, for the First Congress on Childhood, Adolescence, Family and Education. Organized by the Christian Alliance of Evangelical Churches of the Argentine Republic (ACIERA), the event focused on providing biblical training and practical strategies to support families and youth within their local communities.

The program featured over 30 speakers and included plenary sessions, workshops, and panel discussions regarding the current social climate in Argentina. Drawing on Matthew 18:14, organizers emphasized the importance of spiritual formation and the responsibility of the church to address the needs of the younger generation. The Rev. Rubén Del Re highlighted the influence of family in passing on the faith, citing the biblical examples of Timothy, Eunice, and Lois.

Participants also examined significant social challenges, including poverty and educational barriers. Speakers noted that these difficulties align with recent data, such as a June 2026 UNICEF report indicating that millions of children in Argentina live in households experiencing poverty or extreme poverty.
