Navigators UK Launches Alongsider Course to Equip Everyday Disciple-Makers

Navigators UK has introduced a new seven-week video-based resource titled the Alongsider Course, designed to help ordinary church members develop practical disciple-making skills. The curriculum is modeled after the relationship between Jesus and his twelve disciples, aiming to demonstrate that effective mentorship does not require specialized expertise but rather a willingness to invest in others through prayer, listening, and encouragement.

National Director Phil Boydell stated that the initiative seeks to normalize intentional, relational discipleship within the daily lives of believers. By providing tools to share personal experiences and spiritual wisdom, the organization hopes to encourage Christians to support one or two individuals in their faith journeys. Early participants in the pilot program reported feeling better equipped to initiate spiritual conversations, with one user noting that the course provided the confidence needed to begin a Bible study with a colleague.
