Trinity Presbyterian Church Completes New Traditional-Style Worship Hall in Oklahoma
Trinity Presbyterian Church in Owasso, Oklahoma, has inaugurated a new permanent worship facility, marking the end of a thirteen-year period during which the congregation met in twelve different temporary locations, including a YMCA and a middle school. Established in 2011, the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) congregation began planning the project after acquiring land in 2018.
The new building features a traditional architectural style characterized by pointed arches, stone floors, and carved hammerbeam trusses. These trusses depict twelve biblical scenes, ranging from the story of Daniel to the wedding at Cana. Senior pastor Blake Altman stated that the design aims to integrate truth, beauty, and goodness, noting that the visual elements serve to enhance biblical literacy among congregants.
While the design incorporates ornate imagery, the church maintains a focus on Reformed theology by positioning the pulpit as the central focal point of the sanctuary. According to Altman, the architecture is intended to point worshipers toward theological truths while avoiding the potential for idolatry. Since the facility opened in 2024, church leadership reports that the new space has attracted a significant number of newcomers.
