Comedian Druski to Star in Netflix Series Satirizing Megachurch Culture

Comedian Drew Desbordes, known professionally as Druski, is set to debut a new semi-scripted comedy series titled "Collect & Praise" on Netflix this December 1. The project, produced in collaboration with his company 4LIFERS Entertainment, expands upon a viral social media skit in which the comedian parodied prosperity gospel preachers. The series will feature actor Mike Epps and follow a narrative centered on a pastor and deacon who prioritize financial gain over ministry, navigating various scandals and controversies.

Netflix executives have expressed support for the partnership, highlighting Druski’s ability to create viral characters that resonate with broad audiences. The series follows the success of the comedian's original online skit, which has accumulated over 60 million views. While the project has generated significant online interest, it has also drawn criticism from some church leaders. Michael Todd, lead pastor of Transformation Church, previously characterized the comedian's portrayal of church culture as a "mass distraction."
