International Guests Join Ukraine’s Third National Prayer Breakfast in Kyiv

More than 650 international guests from 17 countries gathered in Kyiv on August 23 for Ukraine’s third National Prayer Breakfast. The event, held amid ongoing conflict, included a moment of silence at 9 a.m. to honor soldiers and civilians who have lost their lives since the war began. Attendees included volunteer coordinators and various foreign representatives who traveled to the capital despite the persistent threat of aerial attacks.

The gathering took place during a period of heightened military tension, as July marked the deadliest month for Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022. Government officials, including presidential adviser Oleg Gavrysh, highlighted the urgent need for additional air defense resources, specifically Patriot interceptors, to protect critical infrastructure. As winter approaches, concerns remain regarding the potential for a humanitarian crisis due to ongoing strikes on energy and sanitation systems.
