Conservative commentator raises concerns over Charles Haywood’s influence in Christian circles

Conservative radio host Erick Erickson recently published an investigative report detailing the activities of Charles Haywood, a former entrepreneur and founder of the Society for American Civic Renewal (SACR). Erickson alleges that Haywood is establishing an "armed patronage network" that has gained influence within various Christian and secular conservative organizations. The report claims that individuals associated with Haywood’s orbit have expressed views ranging from white nationalism to antisemitism.

Haywood, who authored "The Foundationalist Manifesto" in 2021, advocates for a societal shift away from Enlightenment-era liberalism toward a system he describes as a "limited dictatorship" or aristocratic rule. His vision includes the state-mandated promotion of Christianity, the deportation of immigrants deemed culturally incompatible, and the restriction of personal career choices to prioritize family life. Supporters of the SACR, such as Nate Fischer and Andrew Beck, have characterized the organization as a fraternal "brain trust" for younger Christian men. The report has sparked significant debate among conservatives regarding the influence of these ideologies within the broader movement.
