Former Conservative MP Miriam Cates, an evangelical Christian, has publicly criticized the government's approach, arguing that the need for such a pamphlet highlights a failure to address cultural differences regarding women's rights. Cates contends that the state should implement stricter border controls, suggesting that authorities must consider the cultural backgrounds of migrants to ensure the safety of British citizens. She urged Prime Minister Andy Burnham to prioritize national security and border integrity over what she described as the "liberal left's" conflation of compassion with government responsibility.
