Author Jonathan Cahn Involved in Mid-Air Altercation on Flight to Newark

Messianic Jewish author and minister Jonathan Cahn recently disclosed his involvement in a disruptive incident aboard an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Newark on September 3, 2026. The flight was diverted to Baltimore after a passenger, identified as 67-year-old Arthur Wayne Lundeen, became violent and was subsequently restrained with duct tape. Lundeen now faces criminal charges, including disorderly conduct and second-degree assault.

Cahn described the encounter as a spiritual confrontation, characterizing the behavior of his seatmate as an manifestation of "forces of darkness" intended to hinder his work. According to Cahn, the incident occurred shortly after the release of his latest book, "The Altar of Pergamon." He noted that the two men had initially engaged in polite conversation about their families and his writing before the interaction escalated following a discussion about faith.

While media reports focused on the passenger's use of racial slurs and physical outbursts, Cahn argued that these accounts failed to capture the full nature of the event. He further cited several technical malfunctions with his electronic devices during his travels as additional evidence of spiritual opposition.
