Rev. Dr. Michael Youssef Visits Jordan for Ministry Event

Egyptian-American pastor and author Rev. Dr. Michael Youssef is visiting Amman, Jordan, on September 4 for a public ministry event hosted at the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary. The gathering is sponsored by retired Maj. Gen. Imad Maayah, who serves as president of the Jordan Evangelical Council.

In interviews preceding the event, Youssef emphasized themes of reconciliation, hope in Jesus Christ, and a commitment to truth amid regional instability. Having recently stepped back from his regular weekly pulpit ministry, Youssef stated his intention to dedicate his time to the Arab world. He also discussed the upcoming 2030 commemoration of the 2,000th anniversary of Jesus' baptism at Bethany Beyond the Jordan, expressing a willingness to support the event if invited.

Addressing his theological perspective, Youssef identified as Reformed and advocated for peace. While affirming Israel's right to exist and defend itself, he stated that he does not support unchecked violence from any party. Youssef, who founded the Al Malakoot satellite television station, has spent over five decades in global ministry and continues to travel to address what he describes as a widespread loss of hope.
