The group characterizes the show as a "teen soap opera" that promotes witchcraft and secular values to young audiences. To support their position, the organization cited biblical passages from Deuteronomy 18:10-11 and Isaiah 8:19-22, which caution against involvement in sorcery and consulting mediums. Supporters are being encouraged to sign a pledge to avoid the program and the Disney brand.

Created by Tim Federle, the series is set in New Orleans and follows a group of teenage witches and warlocks attending an elite school for magic. Disney describes the narrative as a story involving supernatural conflicts, dangerous ambitions, and complex romantic relationships. While the show was initially intended for the Disney Channel, it was moved to the Freeform network, with streaming availability on Disney+ and Hulu.
