German Christian Organizations Partner to Launch Bible App in 2027
The German Christian media organization ERF – Der Sinnsender and the German Bible Society have announced a partnership to develop a free Bible app, scheduled for release in mid-2027. The project aims to provide users with accessible, contemporary engagement with Scripture through short, daily devotional prompts designed to integrate Bible reading into everyday routines.
The collaboration combines the German Bible Society’s editorial and theological expertise with ERF’s experience in digital infrastructure and product development. According to the organizations, the initiative seeks to build upon their combined reach of over 1.5 million monthly visitors across existing platforms. Development is set to begin in late 2026, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the ERF Bibleserver.
To ensure the final product meets user needs, the partners plan to conduct testing phases throughout the development process. Representatives from both organizations stated that the app is intended to complement their current services, offering a new tool for personal study and spiritual reflection. Feedback from selected test users will be used to refine the app's features and content before its official launch.
