Former NFL Receiver Jordan Shipley Credits God for Recovery After Ranch Accident

Former University of Texas and NFL wide receiver Jordan Shipley recently shared his testimony at a Toolbox Christian outreach event, detailing his survival following a severe accident on his Texas ranch. In January, Shipley suffered third-degree burns across 20% of his body after becoming trapped in a burning bulldozer. He recounted praying and calling out to God while struggling to escape the vehicle, an experience he says was preceded by a poignant conversation with his young son about heaven earlier that same day.

Following the accident, Shipley walked for 45 minutes to find assistance before being airlifted to a hospital. While medical professionals initially projected a three-month recovery period involving multiple skin grafts, Shipley was discharged after only 11 days in the intensive care unit without requiring surgery. Shipley and his wife, Sunny, describe his rapid healing as a miracle, noting that medical staff expressed surprise at the speed of his recovery. Shipley says the ordeal has fundamentally changed his perspective on life and deepened his reliance on faith.
