Former members allege abuse by pastor in Netflix docuseries on Mica Miller

A new Netflix docuseries, "Death of the Pastor's Wife," has brought renewed attention to the 2024 death of Mica Miller, the wife of Pastor John-Paul Miller of Solid Rock at Market Common in South Carolina. The series features testimonies from former church members and friends who allege that the pastor engaged in a pattern of grooming, mental manipulation, and sexual abuse throughout their marriage.

Former congregants Bruna and Ricky Pabon, along with Sam Rickman, claim that the pastor exerted excessive control over his wife and that church leadership ignored or dismissed concerns raised by members. While Mica Miller’s death was officially ruled a suicide, the allegations of harassment and stalking have persisted. John-Paul Miller has not been charged in connection with her death, though he was indicted in December 2025 on federal charges related to cyberstalking and making false statements to investigators. The pastor’s legal counsel has not yet provided a response to these recent allegations.
