Former Northview Church Pastor CJ Johnson Launches New Congregation

Four months after his termination from Northview Church in Indiana, Pastor CJ Johnson has announced the launch of a new congregation called Patmos Church. Johnson shared the news on social media, referencing Revelation 1:9 and stating that a broken world requires a brave church.

Johnson’s departure from Northview Church in June followed concerns regarding his leadership style. His tenure at Northview had been marked by controversy, as former members of his previous congregation, Southland City Church in Minnesota, had raised allegations of dishonesty, financial lack of transparency, and manipulative behavior. While Northview leadership initially defended Johnson’s hiring in 2021, citing a thorough due diligence process and dismissing earlier allegations as distortions, the church eventually moved to terminate his employment this past summer.
