Hunt Country Furniture Breaks Ground on New Craft Village in New York

Hunt Country Furniture held a groundbreaking ceremony on October 22, 2026, to mark the development of the new Hunt Craft Village in Wingdale, New York. The project aims to revitalize the site of the former Webatuck Craft Village, which the company acquired approximately ten years ago. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed within two years.

The site holds historical significance dating back to the 18th century, including a building constructed in 1747. The location is linked to the Moravian community, a Protestant denomination that historically emphasized education, skilled trades, and peaceful relations with Native peoples. CEO Lucia Bartovic stated that the company intends to honor this heritage by creating a space that preserves traditional craftsmanship, supports local artists, and provides educational opportunities. Bartovic noted that the Moravian values of viewing work as a form of service and worship are central to the vision for the new village.
