Staten Island Pastor Continues 9/11 Memorial Outreach on 25th Anniversary

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks, Pastor Mike Veach of First Bible Church of Staten Island and a team of volunteers continued their tradition of distributing Christian literature near the 9/11 Memorial in New York City. This outreach effort began in the immediate aftermath of the 2001 tragedy, when Veach and his congregation provided spiritual support and resources to a city grappling with widespread trauma.

Veach recalled that in the months following the attacks, there was an intense public hunger for spiritual answers, with his team distributing hundreds of thousands of Bibles and tracts. For two years, the church hosted volunteers from across the country to assist with this ministry. While Veach noted that the demand for such materials has significantly decreased over the past two decades, his team remains committed to the annual presence. He observed that today, those most receptive to the Gospel tracts are typically visitors from outside the city.
