The scammers are reportedly using WhatsApp and social media advertisements to offer fraudulent immigration bond assistance, requesting personal information and monetary payments for services that do not exist. The organization clarified that it does not solicit services through these platforms and urged the public to avoid sharing financial details with unknown contacts.

According to reports, this deceptive activity has been ongoing for approximately one year. The charity is encouraging those who receive such messages to block the accounts and report the incidents immediately. This incident follows a broader trend of financial fraud affecting religious organizations, including a recent cyberattack against the United Methodist Church New England Conference that resulted in the loss of approximately $1.6 million. Experts note that such fraud remains a significant challenge for charitable institutions globally.
