Asheville Christian Academy Denies Allegations of Negligence in Bullying Lawsuit
Asheville Christian Academy, a private K-12 school in North Carolina, has formally denied allegations of negligence regarding the treatment of a former student. A civil complaint filed in Buncombe County Superior Court on behalf of a 13-year-old student, identified as John Doe, accuses the school of failing to protect him from physical and sexual abuse, as well as attempting to cover up the incidents. The plaintiff is seeking damages in excess of $25,000.
The lawsuit alleges that the student, who enrolled in 2023, was subjected to ritualistic hazing in school locker rooms and targeted through the creation and circulation of sexually explicit AI-generated content. Furthermore, the complaint claims that students facilitated contact between the victim and a local convicted pedophile. In response, school officials stated that their internal investigation found the claims to be without merit. The academy has announced its intention to defend itself through the legal process while declining further comment out of respect for the families involved.
