New network launched to support Christian school scholarships

The Ohio-based Center for Christian Virtue has established the Christian Education Network Scholarship Granting Organization to facilitate funding for students attending Christian schools. This initiative aligns with a new federal school choice program, scheduled to launch on January 1, 2027, which allows taxpayers to claim a credit of up to $1,700 for donations made to scholarship-granting organizations.

Aaron Baer, president of the Center for Christian Virtue, described the federal program as a significant opportunity for expanding access to Christian education. As part of the organization's "Stop Settling, Expect More" campaign, the network aims to prepare churches and families to utilize these tax credits effectively. Baer characterized the potential impact of the program as a major evangelism opportunity, comparing its significance to the historical crusades led by Billy Graham. The initiative seeks to assist families in transitioning from public school systems to private Christian institutions.
