Wisconsin Gubernatorial Candidate Survives Plane Crash in Lake Wausau

Wisconsin Republican gubernatorial nominee and U.S. Congressman Tom Tiffany survived a plane crash on Saturday night after his private aircraft lost power while traveling from La Crosse to Wausau. The pilot alerted Tiffany to the emergency moments before the plane landed in Lake Wausau. Both men remained on the submerging aircraft briefly before deciding to swim toward the airport to reach safety.

After swimming approximately 100 to 150 feet, the pair reached a shallower area of the lake where they were rescued by boat within five minutes. Both individuals sustained only minor injuries, though Tiffany required 12 stitches for a laceration above his eyebrow. During a press conference on Sunday, Tiffany expressed deep gratitude to first responders and his political supporters.

Reflecting on the incident, Tiffany credited his survival to divine intervention. He stated that he felt fortunate that God was looking after them and expressed thankfulness to the Lord for sparing their lives to see another day. Tiffany noted that he remains focused on his ongoing gubernatorial campaign following the ordeal.
