Katie Zacharia Appointed as White House Press Secretary

President Donald Trump has appointed Katie Zacharia as the new White House press secretary. Zacharia, a former spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security and a frequent commentator in conservative media, officially began her tenure on Monday. She succeeds Karoline Leavitt, who resigned from the position on August 27.

In a statement posted to Truth Social, President Trump commended Zacharia for her loyalty and her contributions to his recent campaign efforts in key swing states. Zacharia expressed gratitude for the appointment, characterizing the role as the honor of a lifetime as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary. She is scheduled to conduct her first official press briefing on Tuesday.
