AI Christian Partnership Releases Guidelines for Church Engagement with Artificial Intelligence

The AI Christian Partnership has introduced a new set of guidelines designed to help churches navigate the ethical and practical implications of artificial intelligence. Founder Chris Goswami stated that the initiative aims to foster intentional conversation rather than promote the technology, encouraging congregations to consider the impact of AI on ministry, evangelism, and the nature of human relationships within the church.

According to Goswami, the guidelines were developed in response to the rapid, often silent adoption of AI tools in various sectors of church life, including administration, small groups, and sermon preparation. The organization conducted trials with ten churches across four denominations earlier this year, receiving feedback that such resources are necessary for addressing the challenges of an increasingly automated world. The partnership emphasizes that while churches may choose whether or not to utilize AI, they should do so with a clear understanding of the spiritual and ethical consequences.
