United Bible Societies Reports 148 Million Printed Scriptures Distributed in 2025

The United Bible Societies (UBS) announced the distribution of 148.3 million printed Scriptures in 2025, marking the organization's 80th anniversary. The total includes 22.4 million full Bibles, 10 million New Testaments, and over 115 million Scripture portions. Since its inception in 1946, the organization has distributed 25 billion items globally. Central and South America recorded the highest volume of printed materials, while Asia and Africa showed steady demand for New Testaments and introductory resources.

Alongside physical distribution, the report highlights a significant shift toward digital engagement. UBS recorded 26.4 million resource downloads and 32.2 billion Bible chapter views, representing a 13.8% increase from the previous year. Audio Scriptures were accessed 1.4 billion times. The organization noted that while printed Bibles remain essential, digital platforms are becoming the primary method for Scripture engagement in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania. Spanish, Portuguese, English, Mandarin, and Indonesian remained the most common languages for full Bible distribution throughout the year.
