UK Christians Launch Third Annual National Week of Prayer
Christians across the United Kingdom have commenced the third annual National Week of Prayer, a nine-day initiative running from October 10 to 18. Organized under the theme 'Gather. Remember. Return,' the event aims to foster unity among diverse denominations, including evangelical, Catholic, and charismatic traditions. Participants are encouraged to prioritize daily prayer for their families, workplaces, and national leaders.
Events are scheduled in over 100 locations, ranging from intimate home gatherings to large-scale meetings. A central service is set for October 15 at the Royal Military Chapel in London, featuring representatives from various sectors of society such as healthcare, media, and business. The service will also be available via an online livestream for those unable to attend in person.
Launched in 2024, the initiative has seen consistent growth, with coordinator Kamesh Flynn noting that the movement has exceeded initial expectations. Supporters of the event include organizations such as Open Doors UK & Ireland, Premier, and Christians in Government. Organizers describe the week as an opportunity for believers to seek spiritual renewal and collective guidance for the nation.
