Satanic Planet music video depicts ritual in Hobby Lobby
The band Satanic Planet, which includes The Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves, released a music video on August 26, 2026, for the song "Sam Alito's Mom." The video features a woman performing what the group describes as a "religious abortion ritual" inside a restroom at a Hobby Lobby retail store. The ritual, as depicted in the video and described on the organization's website, involves self-affirmation and the use of abortifacient medication.
The video concludes with scenes of various Christian-themed products sold by the retailer being engulfed in flames. According to the band, the song and the accompanying album, "Dead Deities," are intended as a protest against what they characterize as Christian nationalism and theocratic influence in public life. Hobby Lobby, a company known for its Christian ownership and its 2014 Supreme Court victory regarding religious exemptions for employee benefits, has not issued a public response to the video.
