Derek Thomas Releases New Teaching Series on the Life of the Apostle John

Ligonier Ministries has launched a new 17-part video teaching series titled "The Life of John," presented by Dr. Derek Thomas. The series examines the spiritual development of the Apostle John, tracing his journey from a zealous "Son of Thunder" to the "Beloved Disciple" shaped by the love of Christ. Through this study, Dr. Thomas explores how the Lord transforms believers into servants characterized by humility and a desire to point others toward the Savior.

The curriculum covers various stages of John’s life, including his background as a Galilean fisherman, his struggles with pride, and his role as a witness to the resurrection. By walking through these historical accounts, the series aims to help contemporary Christians deepen their love for Christ and their neighbors. The teaching is currently available for streaming through the Ligonier Grow app, with additional resources including a digital study guide and a forthcoming hardcover companion book.
