Christian Peoples Alliance candidate campaigns in Holborn and St Pancras by-election
In the recent by-election for the Holborn and St Pancras constituency, triggered by the retirement of Sir Keir Starmer, Labour candidate Sagal Abdi-Wali secured the seat. The contest featured a variety of smaller parties and independent candidates, including Helen Spiby-Vann, who represented the Christian Peoples Alliance.
Spiby-Vann, a veteran campaigner, utilized unconventional methods to engage voters, including the use of a mannequin head displayed in a Perspex box. This prop was intended to educate local residents about the history of St Pancras, a 14-year-old martyr from Phrygia whose name is now associated with the London area and its major railway station. While larger political parties focused on traditional campaign spending, Spiby-Vann’s efforts highlighted the creative approaches often employed by smaller organizations to gain visibility during local elections.
