Street Evangelist Assaulted During Outreach in West Hollywood

An Arizona-based street evangelism team reported an assault during an outreach event in the West Hollywood district of Los Angeles on August 16, 2026. David Hoffman, leader of His Kingdom Enterprises, stated that team member David Ramirez was struck by an unidentified pedestrian while the group was preaching near a local establishment. According to Hoffman, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. as Ramirez was interacting with individuals in the area.

Video footage of the encounter shows Ramirez speaking to a crowd before being struck. Ramirez later reported that he was hit multiple times, including a blow to the throat that caused temporary loss of voice. Hoffman stated that the group contacted local law enforcement to report the incident, though he expressed dissatisfaction with the response. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s West Hollywood Station has not provided a comment regarding the event. Hoffman noted that the team was unaware of the area's specific demographic identity prior to their arrival, emphasizing their intent to share their religious message.
