University of Southern Mississippi head football coach Blake Anderson recently drew public attention after wearing a shirt featuring the phrase “Christ is King” during the team’s “Eagle Walk” event on September 5, 2026. During a subsequent press conference, Anderson stated that his intention in wearing the shirt was to ensure Christ was glorified and noticed by others. Anderson noted that while the response to his attire has been largely positive, he anticipated some negative feedback.
