Christian teacher killed in western Uganda following evangelistic outreach

Benjamin Kule Mayani, a 45-year-old teacher, was killed on September 29 in the Kasese District of western Uganda. Mayani and his colleague, Pascal Muhindo, were returning from an evangelistic outreach when they were intercepted by three men. According to local church sources, the assailants questioned the pair regarding the whereabouts of a woman named Sharifa, who had converted from Islam to Christianity and had previously been sheltered by Mayani.

During the confrontation, Mayani was struck on the head with a blunt object. While Muhindo managed to escape and seek assistance, Mayani died at the scene. Police confirmed the incident and have opened a murder investigation, with detectives currently working to identify the suspects.
