Theologians Explore Biblical Foundations of Scripture and Worship at Sing! Conference

At the 2026 Sing! Conference in Nashville, theologians Wes Huff and Sinclair Ferguson addressed the theme “Symphony of Scripture,” which commemorates the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale’s English New Testament.

Apologist Wes Huff presented a framework for biblical reliability using the acronym “TRUST” (text, reproduction, usage, survival, and translation). Drawing on historical evidence like Papyrus 66, Huff argued that the vast volume of surviving manuscripts allows scholars to recover the original text with confidence. He emphasized that while textual variants exist, the evidence confirms that modern translations accurately reflect the ancient Greek and Hebrew writings.

Sinclair Ferguson focused on the theology of worship, tracing the concept of singing from creation to redemption. Citing Job 38, he described creation as a chorus designed to glorify God. He also referenced Zephaniah 3 to highlight the biblical image of God rejoicing over His people with singing. Ferguson concluded by teaching that while churches have worship leaders, Jesus Christ remains the ultimate leader of the Church’s praise, providing a song for believers even when the world feels unstable.
