Sight & Sound Celebrates 50 Years of Biblical Theater

Sight & Sound, a Christian theater company based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Founded in 1976 by Glenn and Shirley Eshelman, the organization has grown from a traveling slideshow into a major production house that has hosted over 40 million visitors. Today, the company operates two large-scale venues in Lancaster and Branson, Missouri, and reaches international audiences through its streaming platform.

To mark the milestone, the organization has launched a new stage production titled "Joshua" and released its second feature film, "A Great Awakening." These projects follow a history of resilience, notably after a 1997 fire destroyed the original Lancaster theater. Leadership describes that event as a turning point that solidified their commitment to the ministry. Looking ahead, the company plans to continue its expansion in 2027 with new stage debuts and film projects, while continuing to train performers through its two-year conservatory program.
