Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon addresses Liberty University students on cultural engagement

Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon spoke at Liberty University’s Convocation on October 21, 2026, urging students to engage with culture through creative media. Dillon argued that Christians should produce high-quality content that resonates broadly, citing C.S. Lewis’s philosophy that the focus should be on creating excellent work rather than exclusively producing explicitly religious material. He noted that when The Babylon Bee launched a decade ago, it aimed to provide a Christian perspective in a comedy landscape dominated by secular progressive viewpoints.

During his address, Dillon emphasized the role of satire in challenging harmful cultural narratives, suggesting that mocking problematic ideas prevents them from being taken seriously. He also cautioned students against being misled by radical conspiracists who he claimed exploit the grievances of young Christians to promote hatred. Specifically, Dillon warned against the influence of figures such as commentator Nick Fuentes, encouraging the audience to instead pursue creative endeavors that offer a thoughtful alternative to prevailing cultural trends.
