Samuel Rodriguez Joins Mel Gibson to Promote Upcoming Resurrection Film

Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, has been named an official ambassador for Mel Gibson’s upcoming film, "The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One." The collaboration follows a visit by Rodriguez to the film's production set in Italy, where he met with Gibson and other filmmakers to coordinate a strategy for engaging churches ahead of the movie's planned release in May 2027 and May 2028.

As part of this partnership, Rodriguez will work to connect Christian organizations and local congregations with the project, positioning the film as a tool for evangelistic outreach. Rodriguez, who also leads New Season church in California and recently launched his own production company, BeLight Productions, stated that he views the project as an opportunity to share the message of the resurrection with a global audience. The initiative also includes plans for a special re-release of the original film, "The Passion of the Christ."
