Finnish Court Halts Deportation of Russian Anti-War Activists

A Finnish administrative court has overturned a deportation order for Olga Belova and her son, Nikita Belov, who fled Russia in 2022 following their vocal opposition to the invasion of Ukraine. The court has directed the Finnish Immigration Service to re-evaluate the family's asylum application, citing new evidence regarding their public profile and the potential risks they would face if returned to their home country. Previously, authorities had rejected their claims, asserting there was no immediate danger to the pair.

Since arriving in Finland, the Belovs have been active in supporting Ukraine, including providing humanitarian aid.
