Legendary Guitarist Phil Keaggy Reflects on Career and Film Contribution

Renowned guitarist and Gospel Music Hall of Fame inductee Phil Keaggy recently shared his experience contributing to the biographical drama "Reagan." The 75-year-old musician recorded a rendition of the iconic "Sweet Child O' Mine" riff for the film, which accompanies a pivotal scene depicting the fall of the Berlin Wall. Keaggy described the experience of hearing his work on the big screen for the first time as a surreal milestone, noting that it gave him "goosebumps."

Keaggy, who rose to prominence with the band Glass Harp before becoming a foundational figure in Christian rock, noted that his involvement began through a friendship with producer Mark Joseph. Reflecting on his five-decade career, Keaggy emphasized that his primary mission has remained sharing the Gospel. He credits his enduring focus to his conversion in 1970 during the Jesus Movement, a period he describes as the foundation for his long-standing commitment to faith-based music.
