Pakistani Christians Report Rising Violence and Demand Justice in Recent Cases

Christian communities and advocates in Pakistan are expressing significant concern following a series of violent incidents, including physical assaults, suspicious deaths, and reports of forced conversions. In Punjab province, residents of Chak Lakhia recently alleged that a group of approximately 30 to 35 individuals invaded their homes and assaulted several people following a prior dispute. Victims are calling for an impartial investigation and increased protection from local authorities.

Advocates are also seeking clarity regarding the death of 18-year-old Daud in the Lodhran District. While his family alleges that police officers assaulted him, leading to his death in a canal, authorities claim he jumped into the water to evade arrest for suspected drug offenses. A murder case has been registered against the officers involved. Additionally, protesters recently gathered at the Peshawar Press Club to demand justice for Adnan Masih, a sanitation worker killed in a vehicle collision, while other reports continue to highlight the abduction and alleged forced conversion of a 13-year-old girl in Faisalabad.
