Jubilee+ Launches Resource to Integrate Poverty Relief and Evangelism

The Christian charity Jubilee+ has released a new 44-page magazine titled Speak Jesus, aimed at helping churches bridge the gap between social action and faith-sharing. The resource provides practical guidance for those involved in mercy ministries, featuring contributions from organizations such as The Message Trust, Christians Against Poverty, and London City Mission. The Evangelical Alliance has endorsed the publication, which seeks to address a perceived disconnect between meeting immediate physical needs and sharing the gospel.

Research from the Evangelical Alliance indicates that only 25% of surveyed churches possess a cohesive strategy for integrating compassion ministries with evangelism. Jubilee+ CEO Natalie Williams noted that while many churches encounter more non-Christians through poverty relief projects than any other activity, many leaders struggle to bridge the two areas due to concerns about appearing exploitative or lacking confidence in their approach. The resource emphasizes that practical assistance must remain unconditional, ensuring that individuals receiving support are never pressured to engage with religious content.
