During an October 14 appearance on the podcast "Pod Force One with Miranda Devine," Huckabee suggested that Carlson might be experiencing mental health issues or demonic influence. These comments followed Carlson’s previous public accounts of a 2023 incident where he claimed to have been physically attacked by an unseen force, an experience he credited with deepening his commitment to Christianity.

Huckabee, an ordained Southern Baptist minister and former Arkansas governor, expressed that he no longer recognizes Carlson, citing their long professional history at Fox News. The ambassador specifically criticized Carlson’s recent political stances, including his skepticism regarding the historical lineage of modern Israelis and his concerns about Israeli government security procedures. Huckabee dismissed Carlson's fears of being targeted by Israeli authorities as unfounded, characterizing the airport security measures Carlson encountered as routine. Carlson has not yet issued a formal response to these latest remarks.
