Crossroads Church Pastor Brian Tome to Resume Teaching After Suspension
Brian Tome, the founder and senior pastor of Crossroads Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, is scheduled to return to his teaching duties this weekend. The church’s Spiritual Board announced that Tome will participate in the upcoming "Well Played" sermon series following a period of leave that began earlier this year.
Tome was placed on leave in February after an accusation surfaced regarding a 2015 incident in which he struck a male church member with a riding crop. Following an independent investigation, the board suspended Tome for the incident and cited broader concerns regarding his leadership style and its impact on the church's staff culture.
Church leadership stated that Tome has spent the past several months engaged in a process of reflection, reconciliation, and repentance. In their announcement, the board expressed gratitude for the congregation's patience and emphasized a commitment to humility and grace as the church moves forward with its mission.
