Michael Horton to Deliver Sixth Annual John Warwick Montgomery Lecture

The Lanier Theological Library in Houston, Texas, will host the sixth annual John Warwick Montgomery Lecture in Evidential and Legal Apologetics. This year’s event features Dr. Michael Horton, a professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California and founder of Sola Media. The lecture series honors the legacy of the late John Warwick Montgomery, a prominent Christian scholar and apologist whose personal collection of over 20,000 volumes is housed at the library.

Dr. Horton’s presentation, titled “Apologetics to the ‘Spiritual But Not Religious,’” focuses on engaging individuals who pursue spirituality outside the framework of organized religion. While traditional apologetics has historically prioritized responses to atheism and philosophical naturalism, Horton argues that the growing “Spiritual But Not Religious” demographic requires a new intellectual approach. The lecture aims to address how Christian doctrine can effectively intersect with the perspectives of those who seek transcendence while remaining skeptical of institutional faith.
