Journalist Myrka Dellanos Discusses Faith and Professional Challenges in Media

Veteran Hispanic television journalist Myrka Dellanos recently addressed the professional challenges of maintaining Christian convictions within the secular media landscape. Speaking at the Media Music Marketing Summit 2026 in Miami, Dellanos reflected on her career, which includes prominent roles at networks like Univision and Telemundo, and discussed the personal costs she incurred for openly defending her faith.

Dellanos expressed concern regarding what she identifies as a decline in journalistic objectivity, arguing that modern newsrooms increasingly incorporate political activism and editorial bias into their reporting. She described how scripts and questioning techniques are often used to influence audience perception rather than simply presenting verifiable facts. Furthermore, she recounted her experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, claiming that executive producers enforced a singular narrative that suppressed dissenting views from health professionals and the public. She characterized these editorial pressures as a form of political propaganda that conflicted with her commitment to reporting the truth.
