Growing interest in Jesus observed among young people in Sweden

Recent reports indicate a sustained interest in the Christian faith among Sweden's younger generation. Data from the 2025 Youth Barometer survey, which polled 17,000 young Swedes, identified Jesus as a significant influencer in future cultural trends. This observation is supported by Olof Edsinger, general secretary of the Swedish Evangelical Alliance, who notes that confirmation classes and youth-focused religious events are experiencing higher attendance than in previous years.

A focal point of this trend is the annual Jesus Conference in Örebro. The event, which began in 2023, attracted over 3,000 young adults in 2025 and continues to operate under the theme "More of Jesus, Less of Us." Organizers describe the initiative as an effort to foster a movement that encourages personal encounters with Jesus and the application of the gospel within society. Additionally, observers report a notable rise in Bible purchases among young Swedes, a trend that has persisted alongside the recent release of a new Swedish New Testament translation.
