Singapore Physician Wei-Leong Goh Offers Rest at Halton Hideaway

Dr. Wei-Leong Goh, a 66-year-old Presbyterian elder and physician, has established Halton Hideaway, a retreat center in Singapore designed to provide a space for rest and reconciliation. Located near the Changi Boardwalk, the guesthouse was founded in 2021 after Goh felt a personal calling to create a sanctuary following the stresses of the COVID-19 pandemic. He describes the house as a place where he serves as a "housekeeper," welcoming individuals from all backgrounds, including those who are not Christian.

Goh, who previously founded the organization HealthServe to assist low-income migrant workers, views his current work as an extension of his lifelong commitment to hospitality. He shares that the guesthouse has hosted a diverse range of guests, including homeless Singaporeans and international visitors. Reflecting on his ministry, Goh states that he aims to show guests God’s heart through simple acts of service, such as providing a quiet space and sharing meals. He characterizes every guest's experience at the retreat as a "God story," emphasizing his belief that the house serves as a vessel for divine reconciliation.
