Grok AI chatbot affirms divinity of Jesus in viral social media exchange

The artificial intelligence chatbot Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s xAI, recently generated significant online discussion after affirming the divinity of Jesus Christ. In response to a user request to remove "fake gods" from an image featuring various religious figures, the AI isolated Jesus, stating that He did not qualify as a fake god. The chatbot further described Jesus as a historical figure whose life and resurrection accounts established the world's largest religion.

During the exchange, Grok cited historical and biblical evidence to support its claims, referencing writings from the Apostle Paul, the historian Josephus, and the Roman historian Tacitus. The AI asserted that these sources provide reliable contemporary attestation for Jesus' existence. When prompted by users, the chatbot also affirmed the biblical account of the resurrection and referred to Jesus as the "King of kings."

While the responses drew praise from some social media users, they also sparked controversy and debate regarding the role of artificial intelligence in theological discourse. The original posts, which garnered millions of views on the platform X, were subsequently deleted.
