Grace Community Church Appoints Nathan Busenitz as Senior Pastor

Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, has officially named Nathan Busenitz as its new senior pastor. The decision, announced by the church elders on Saturday, follows a unanimous vote held one year after the memorial service for the congregation's longtime leader, John MacArthur. MacArthur, who served the church for over five decades, passed away in July 2025 at the age of 86.

Busenitz previously served as an interim staff pastor following MacArthur’s death. His history with the congregation is extensive, having grown up in the church and served as MacArthur’s personal assistant. He is also an alumnus of The Master’s University and The Master’s Seminary, where he later held leadership and faculty positions. In their announcement, the elders expressed confidence in Busenitz’s ability to shepherd the congregation and maintain the church's focus on expository preaching, citing 1 Peter 5:1–4 and 2 Timothy 4:2 as foundational to his new responsibilities. The church has requested prayers for Busenitz and his family as he transitions into this permanent leadership role.
