Colorado Gubernatorial Candidate Recounts Experience With Spiritual Warfare

Victor Marx, a nonprofit ministry leader and the Republican gubernatorial nominee for Colorado, recently discussed a past experience involving what he describes as a demonic encounter. During a 2020 podcast, Marx recounted leading a Bible study at a maximum-security youth prison in Texas, where he claims a 15-year-old girl named Kristi began manifesting signs of possession. Marx states that he commanded the spirit in the name of Jesus Christ to identify itself, at which point the entity claimed to be Satan.

Marx describes the event as an intense experience that caused other inmates to retreat in fear. He reports that the girl was ultimately delivered from the spirit and subsequently committed her life to the Lord. Marx notes that the girl had a history of significant trauma, including a father involved in satanism. In addition to this account, Marx has shared other personal stories regarding his upbringing, including claims that he was forced to commit a murder as a child by his stepfather, an experience he says deeply impacted his life.
