EEM Launches Global Bible Distribution Campaign Marking Tyndale Anniversary
To commemorate the 500th anniversary of William Tyndale’s English New Testament, the mission agency EEM has announced its largest Bible distribution initiative to date. The campaign aims to provide over one million Bibles to individuals across dozens of countries, continuing the reformer's legacy of ensuring Scripture is accessible in people's heart languages.
EEM president Dirk Smith recently visited Britain to honor Tyndale’s historical contributions and discuss future ministry partnerships. Reflecting on the reformer’s impact, Smith highlighted that a significant portion of modern English translations remains rooted in Tyndale’s original work. He emphasized that Tyndale’s commitment to translating the Greek text was driven by the conviction that Scripture provides spiritual freedom and a direct path to knowing Jesus. The organization views this anniversary as an opportunity to renew global efforts in Bible engagement, drawing inspiration from Tyndale’s dedication to making the Word of God available to the common person.
